Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Corporate Office Properties Trust, a filing with the SEC revealed that on Thursday, Director C. Taylor Pickett purchased 10,000 shares of OFC, for a cost of $22.16 each, for a total investment of $221,601. Corporate Office Properties Trust is trading up about 1.7% on the day Friday. Before this latest buy, Pickett made one other buy in the past twelve months, purchasing $231,954 shares for a cost of $23.20 a piece.
And at Net 1 UEPS Technologies, there was insider buying on Wednesday, by Antony C. Ball who purchased 49,444 shares at a cost of $3.13 each, for a total investment of $154,760.
