EFA, XRT: Big ETF Outflows Wednesday, June 19, 10:47 AM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF (EFA), where 8,400,000 units were destroyed, or a 0.9% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of EFA, in morning trading today NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) is up about 0.7%, and Check Point Software Technologies (CHKP) is lower by about 0.4%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the SPDR S&P Retail ETF (XRT), which lost 3,200,000 of its units, representing a 27.0% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of XRT, in morning trading today Carmax (KMX) is off about 1.4%, and Lithia Motors (LAD) is lower by about 0.7%.
