Thursday 2/14 Insider Buying Report: CSS, PLT Thursday, February 14, 10:31 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At CSS Industries (CSS), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Tuesday, Director Rebecca C. Matthias bought 30,032 shares of CSS, for a cost of $7.41 each, for a total investment of $222,537. CSS Industries is trading up about 1.4% on the day Thursday. Before this latest buy, Matthias bought CSS at 2 other times during the past year, for a total investment of $111,075 at an average of $11.00 per share.
And at Plantronics (PLT), there was insider buying on Tuesday, by Director Brian S. Dexheimer who purchased 3,569 shares for a cost of $46.26 each, for a trade totaling $165,086. Before this latest buy, Dexheimer purchased PLT on 2 other occasions during the past year, for a total investment of $990,146 at an average of $46.20 per share. Plantronics is trading up about 1.1% on the day Thursday. Dexheimer was up about 3.0% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with PLT trading as high as $47.65 at last check today.
