Friday 2/15 Insider Buying Report: VTVT, GT Friday, February 15, 10:31 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At vTv Therapeutics (VTVT), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Thursday, Ronald O. Perelman purchased 815,217 shares of VTVT, at a cost of $1.84 each, for a total investment of $1.5M. Perelman was up about 35.8% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with VTVT trading as high as $2.50 at last check today. vTv Therapeutics is trading off about 5.3% on the day Friday. Before this latest buy, Perelman purchased VTVT on 8 other occasions during the past year, for a total cost of $17M at an average of $1.61 per share.
And at Goodyear Tire & Rubber (GT), there was insider buying on Wednesday, by Director Werner Geissler who bought 35,000 shares at a cost of $18.65 each, for a trade totaling $652,628. Goodyear Tire & Rubber is trading up about 1.8% on the day Friday.
