Monday 12/10 Insider Buying Report: IOVA, UAL Monday, December 10, 10:31 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Thursday, Iovance Biotherapeutics (IOVA)'s Director, Wayne P. Rothbaum, made a $12.45M buy of IOVA, purchasing 1,221,053 shares at a cost of $10.20 each. Bargain hunters can snag IOVA at a price even lower than Rothbaum did, with shares trading as low as $9.38 in trading on Monday which is 8.0% under Rothbaum's purchase price. Iovance Biotherapeutics is trading up about 5.2% on the day Monday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Rothbaum in the past year.
And also on Thursday, Director Edward Shapiro bought $2.78M worth of United Continental Holdings (UAL), buying 30,000 shares at a cost of $92.57 each. Before this latest buy, Shapiro bought UAL at 3 other times during the past year, for a total cost of $6.79M at an average of $67.88 per share. United Continental Holdings is trading up about 0.2% on the day Monday. Investors can grab UAL at a price even lower than Shapiro did, with shares trading as low as $87.85 in trading on Monday — that's 5.1% below Shapiro's purchase price.
