Tuesday 10/16 Insider Buying Report: DISH, ATNX Tuesday, October 16, 10:31 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Monday, Dish Network Corp (DISH)'s Executive Vice President, James Defranco, made a $494,850 purchase of DISH, buying 15,000 shares at a cost of $32.99 a piece. Defranco was up about 4.0% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with DISH trading as high as $34.31 in trading on Tuesday. Dish Network Corp is trading up about 1.7% on the day Tuesday. Before this latest buy, Defranco bought DISH on 11 other occasions during the past year, for a total investment of $2.58M at an average of $32.20 per share.
And also on Monday, Director Jinn Wu bought $168,375 worth of Athenex (ATNX), buying 12,500 shares at a cost of $13.47 a piece. Before this latest buy, WU made one other purchase in the past year, buying $40,220 shares for a cost of $16.09 each. Athenex is trading up about 5.9% on the day Tuesday. Wu was up about 6.9% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with ATNX trading as high as $14.40 at last check today.
