Tuesday 5/22 Insider Buying Report: HTLD, VEC Tuesday, May 22, 10:33 AM ET
Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Heartland Express (HTLD), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Thursday, Director Tahira K. Hira bought 36,500 shares of HTLD, for a cost of $18.28 each, for a total investment of $667,220. So far Hira is in the green, up about 5.0% on their buy based on today's trading high of $19.20. Heartland Express is trading up about 0.7% on the day Tuesday.
And on Monday, Director Phillip Widman purchased $312,100 worth of Vectrus (VEC), purchasing 10,000 shares at a cost of $31.21 a piece. This purchase marks the first one filed by Widman in the past twelve months. Vectrus is trading up about 0.9% on the day Tuesday. Widman was up about 1.7% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with VEC trading as high as $31.74 in trading on Tuesday.
