Monday 5/21 Insider Buying Report: KOP, GTT Monday, May 21, 10:58 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Koppers Holdings (KOP), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Thursday, VP R. Michael Johnson bought 20,000 shares of KOP, at a cost of $38.94 each, for a total investment of $778,886. Johnson was up about 5.2% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with KOP trading as high as $40.97 at last check today. Koppers Holdings is trading trading flat on the day Monday. This buy marks the first one filed by Johnson in the past year.
And on Wednesday, Director Nicola Adamo bought $202,679 worth of GTT Communications (GTT), buying 4,000 shares at a cost of $50.67 a piece. GTT Communications is trading down about 1.5% on the day Monday.
