Thursday 3/29 Insider Buying Report: AMWD, TSI Thursday, March 29, 1:02 PM ET
Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At American Woodmark (AMWD), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Wednesday, Director Vance W. Tang bought 2,000 shares of AMWD, for a cost of $97.55 each, for a total investment of $195,100. Investors have the opportunity to bag AMWD even cheaper than Tang did, with the stock trading as low as $96.05 in trading on Thursday which is 1.5% below Tang's purchase price. American Woodmark is trading up about 0.8% on the day Thursday.
And on Tuesday, Laird Landmann bought $168,500 worth of TCW Strategic Income Fund (TSI), buying 30,000 shares at a cost of $5.62 each. Before this latest buy, Landmann bought TSI on 2 other occasions during the past year, for a total investment of $598,459 at an average of $5.51 per share. TCW Strategic Income Fund is trading up about 0.5% on the day Thursday. Bargain hunters are able to pick up TSI at a price even lower than Landmann did, with shares trading as low as $5.52 at last check today which is 1.7% below Landmann's purchase price.
