ITOT, SMDD: Big ETF Outflows Tuesday, December 19, 10:49 AM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the iShares Core S&P Total U.S. Stock Market ETF (ITOT), where 2,700,000 units were destroyed, or a 1.3% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of ITOT, in morning trading today Apple (AAPL) is down about 1%, and Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) is lower by about 0.9%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the ProShares UltraPro Short MidCap400 (SMDD), which lost 50,000 of its units, representing a 18.6% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior.
