SPLV, FTLS: Big ETF Outflows Tuesday, November 28, 10:50 AM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the PowerShares S&P 500 Low Volatility Portfolio (SPLV), where 16,650,000 units were destroyed, or a 9.9% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of SPLV, in morning trading today PPL Corporation (PPL) is up about 0.7%, and Pinnacle West Capital Corporation (PNW) is up by about 0.5%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the First Trust Long/Short Equity ETF (FTLS), which lost 1,400,000 of its units, representing a 29.8% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of FTLS, in morning trading today Apple (AAPL) is off about 0.1%, and JP Morgan Chase & Company (JPM) is up by about 0.6%.
