Wednesday 6/21 Insider Buying Report: ACOR, SBBX Wednesday, June 21, 10:31 AM ET
Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Friday, Acorda Therapeutics (ACOR)'s CEO, Ron Cohen, made a $338,998 purchase of ACOR, buying 20,000 shares at a cost of $16.95 a piece. Cohen was up about 9.4% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with ACOR trading as high as $18.55 in trading on Wednesday. Acorda Therapeutics is trading up about 1% on the day Wednesday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Cohen in the past year.
And also on Friday, Director Richard Branca bought $199,992 worth of Sussex Bancorp (SBBX), buying 8,333 shares at a cost of $24.00 a piece. Before this latest buy, Branca made one other buy in the past year, purchasing $7,835 shares at a cost of $15.67 a piece. Sussex Bancorp is trading up about 0.5% on the day Wednesday. So far Branca is in the green, up about 1.9% on their buy based on today's trading high of $24.46.
