Monday 4/17 Insider Buying Report: STRM, ASPN Monday, April 17, 10:36 AM ET
Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Thursday, Streamline Health Solutions (STRM)'s SVP & Chief Growth Officer, Shaun Linwood Priest, made a $26,170 purchase of STRM, buying 21,000 shares at a cost of $1.25 a piece. So far Priest is in the green, up about 22.0% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $1.52. Streamline Health Solutions is trading up about 6.2% on the day Monday. Before this latest buy, Priest purchased STRM at 5 other times during the past year, for a total investment of $77,722 at an average of $1.60 per share.
And at Aspen Aerogels (ASPN), there was insider buying on Wednesday, by Director Robert M. Gervis who bought 5,401 shares for a cost of $4.00 each, for a trade totaling $21,602. Before this latest buy, Gervis bought ASPN at 9 other times during the past twelve months, for a total investment of $274,893 at an average of $3.97 per share. Aspen Aerogels is trading up about 0.5% on the day Monday.
