Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Friday, NextEra Energy's Director, William H. Swanson, made a $497,415 buy of NEE, purchasing 3,860 shares at a cost of $128.86 a piece. Swanson was up about 1.5% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with NEE trading as high as $130.77 in trading on Tuesday. NextEra Energy is trading up about 0.5% on the day Tuesday. This buy marks the first one filed by Swanson in the past twelve months.
And on Thursday, Director Mike S. Zafirovski bought $250,150 worth of Stericycle, buying 2,920 shares at a cost of $85.67 each. This buy marks the first one filed by Zafirovski in the past year. Stericycle is trading up about 0.1% on the day Tuesday. Bargain hunters are able to buy SRCL even cheaper than Zafirovski did, with the stock trading as low as $82.88 at last check today which is 3.3% under Zafirovski's purchase price.
