Thursday 2/9 Insider Buying Report: WBA, TUES Thursday, February 9, 10:31 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Tuesday, Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA)'s Co-Chief Operating Officer, Ornella Barra, made a $10.04M purchase of WBA, buying 124,000 shares at a cost of $80.93 a piece. Barra was up about 1.6% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with WBA trading as high as $82.26 at last check today. Walgreens Boots Alliance is trading up about 0.6% on the day Thursday. This buy marks the first one filed by Barra in the past twelve months.
And at Tuesday Morning Corp. (TUES), there was insider buying on Monday, by Chief Executive Officer Steven R. Becker who purchased 200,000 shares at a cost of $3.66 each, for a total investment of $731,840. Before this latest buy, Becker made one other purchase in the past year, buying $179,416 shares at a cost of $4.49 a piece. Tuesday Morning Corp. is trading up about 1.9% on the day Thursday. Becker was up about 14.8% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with TUES trading as high as $4.20 in trading on Thursday.
