Monday 2/6 Insider Buying Report: LAUR, AFL Monday, February 6, 10:31 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Wednesday, Laureate Education (LAUR)'s Director, George Munoz, made a $153,540 buy of LAUR, purchasing 12,000 shares at a cost of $12.79 each. Munoz was up about 4.4% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with LAUR trading as high as $13.36 in trading on Monday. Laureate Education is trading up about 0.2% on the day Monday. This buy marks the first one filed by Munoz in the past year.
And at AFLAC (AFL), there was insider buying on Friday, by Director Karole Lloyd who purchased 2,000 shares at a cost of $68.42 each, for a total investment of $136,839. AFLAC is trading up about 0.6% on the day Monday.
