Friday 9/30 Insider Buying Report: NS, CDI Friday, September 30, 10:42 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At NuStar Energy (NS), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Wednesday, Director William E. Greehey bought 1,991 shares of NS, at a cost of $47.00 each, for a total investment of $93,577. So far Greehey is in the green, up about 4.8% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $49.26. NuStar Energy is trading trading flat on the day Friday. Before this latest buy, Greehey bought NS on 5 other occasions during the past year, for a total investment of $7.19M at an average of $46.56 per share.
And on Tuesday, Director Albert E. Smith purchased $43,200 worth of CDI (CDI), purchasing 8,000 shares at a cost of $5.40 each. Before this latest buy, Smith bought CDI at 2 other times during the past twelve months, for a total investment of $91,675 at an average of $6.55 per share. CDI Corp. is trading off about 1.9% on the day Friday. So far Smith is in the green, up about 6.5% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $5.75.
