Friday 7/1 Insider Buying Report: LUK, NS Friday, July 1, 10:31 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Thursday, Leucadia National Corp. (LUK)'s, W. Patrick Campbell, made a $973,040 purchase of LUK, buying 56,737 shares at a cost of $17.15 each. Campbell was up about 2.9% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with LUK trading as high as $17.65 at last check today. Leucadia National Corp. is trading up about 1.8% on the day Friday.
And at NuStar Energy LP (NS), there was insider buying on Tuesday, by Director William E. Greehey who purchased 20,000 shares for a cost of $47.69 each, for a total investment of $953,882. Before this latest buy, Greehey purchased NS on 5 other occasions during the past twelve months, for a total investment of $10.24M at an average of $47.72 per share. NuStar Energy LP is trading up about 0.6% on the day Friday. So far Greehey is in the green, up about 5.2% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $50.19.
