Wednesday 2/17 Insider Buying Report: TDG, NMFC Wednesday, February 17, 10:38 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Tuesday, TransDigm Group (TDG)'s Director, Robert J. Small, made a $10.1M purchase of TDG, buying 49,910 shares at a cost of $202.28 each. Small was up about 4.5% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with TDG trading as high as $211.38 at last check today. TransDigm Group is trading up about 2.3% on the day Wednesday. Before this latest buy, Small made one other purchase in the past year, buying $89.39M shares at a cost of $191.25 a piece.
And at New Mountain Finance (NMFC), there was insider buying on Friday, by Director Steven B. Klinsky who bought 350,475 shares at a cost of $11.60 each, for a total investment of $4.06M. Before this latest buy, Klinsky purchased NMFC at 3 other times during the past twelve months, for a total cost of $16.78M at an average of $13.72 per share. New Mountain Finance is trading up about 0.4% on the day Wednesday. So far Klinsky is in the green, up about 2.7% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $11.91.
