SPY, MIDU: Big ETF Outflows Tuesday, December 15, 10:48 AM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), where 22,750,000 units were destroyed, or a 2.6% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of SPY, in morning trading today Apple (AAPL) is down about 0.5%, and Microsoft (MSFT) is higher by about 0.9%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Daily Mid Cap Bull 3x Shares (MIDU), which lost 749,868 of its units, representing a 24.2% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of MIDU, in morning trading today SPDR S&P MidCap 400 ETF (MDY) is up about 0.9%.
