Friday 9/18 Insider Buying Report: CLI, VFC Friday, September 18, 10:57 AM ET
Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Mack-Cali Realty (CLI), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Wednesday, Director Jonathan Litt purchased 210,000 shares of CLI, at a cost of $19.95 each, for a total investment of $4.19M. Mack-Cali Realty is trading up about 0.4% on the day Friday. Before this latest buy, Litt made one other buy in the past year, purchasing $3.59M shares for a cost of $19.15 each.
And at VF Corp. (VFC), there was insider buying on Tuesday, by Richard Carucci who bought 4,000 shares at a cost of $71.02 each, for a total investment of $284,070. This buy marks the first one filed by Carucci in the past year. VF Corp. is trading off about 0.6% on the day Friday. So far Carucci is in the green, up about 0.7% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $71.51.
