KBE, CHIE: Big ETF Outflows Thursday, August 20, 10:47 AM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the SPDR S&P Bank ETF (KBE), where 6,800,000 units were destroyed, or a 7.3% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of KBE, in morning trading today Bankunited (BKU) is down about 1.7%, and Synovus Financial (SNV) is lower by about 2.4%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the China Energy ETF (CHIE), which lost 50,000 of its units, representing a 25.0% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of CHIE, in morning trading today Jinkosolar Holdings (JKS) is down about 4.7%, and Trina Solar (TSL) is lower by about 2.5%.
