Tuesday 4/28 Insider Buying Report: UMPQ Tuesday, April 28, 10:31 AM ET
Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at one noteworthy recent insider buy.
At Umpqua Holdings Corp (UMPQ), there was insider buying on Thursday, by Director Peggy Y. Fowler who bought 2,500 shares for a cost of $17.29 each, for a total investment of $43,232. Before this latest buy, Fowler bought UMPQ on 2 other occasions during the past year, for a total investment of $121,465 at an average of $16.20 per share. Umpqua Holdings Corp is trading up about 0.6% on the day Tuesday. Bargain hunters can snag UMPQ even cheaper than Fowler did, with shares trading as low as $16.95 in trading on Tuesday -- that's 2.0% under Fowler's purchase price.
