Friday 1/23 Insider Buying Report: AZZ, FGP Friday, January 23, 10:41 AM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At AZZ (AZZ), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Thursday, CFO Paul Wesley Fehlman purchased 2,000 shares of AZZ, for a cost of $40.95 each, for a total investment of $81,900. So far Fehlman is in the green, up about 2.8% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $42.09. AZZ is trading down about 0.1% on the day Friday. This buy marks the first one filed by Fehlman in the past year.
And at Ferrellgas Partners, L.P. (FGP), there was insider buying on Thursday, by COO Boyd H. McGathey who purchased 1,000 shares for a cost of $23.33 each, for a total investment of $23,330. Before this latest buy, McGathey purchased FGP at 3 other times during the past year, for a total investment of $77,920 at an average of $25.97 per share. Ferrellgas Partners, L.P. is trading down about 0.4% on the day Friday.
