Thursday 12/18 Insider Buying Report: AMH, PAH Thursday, December 18, 12:45 PM ET
As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Monday, American Homes 4 Rent (AMH)'s Director, Wayne Hughes, made a $16.99M purchase of AMH, buying 1,000,000 shares at a cost of $16.99 each. So far Hughes is in the green, up about 1.9% on their buy based on today's trading high of $17.32. American Homes 4 Rent is trading up about 0.6% on the day Thursday. Before this latest buy, Hughes made one other buy in the past year, purchasing $172,387 shares for a cost of $17.24 each.
And on Wednesday, Director Martin E. Franklin purchased $5.30M worth of Platform Specialty Products Corp (PAH), purchasing 250,000 shares at a cost of $21.21 a piece. Platform Specialty Products Corp is trading up about 4.4% on the day Thursday. Franklin was up about 6.8% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with PAH trading as high as $22.65 in trading on Thursday.
