The US markets are lower in early afternoon trading, with the Dow down 0.27%, the S&P lower by 0.51% and the Nasdaq down 0.12%. Some of the most actively traded stocks Bank of America (BAC) up 1.65%, Yahoo! (YHOO) higher by 4.42%, Microsoft (MSFT) up 1.15% and Apple (AAPL) down 0.84%.

In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher, up 0.23%, and the Hang Seng was down 0.20%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was down 0.30% and the German DAX was up 0.11% today.
In economic news, Wholesale Inventories comes out Wednesday, Initial Claims on Thursday, and Retail Sales on Friday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: Barnes & Noble (BKS) on Tuesday, Restoration Hardware Holdings (RH) on Wednesday, Kroger (KR) on Thursday, and Darden Restaurants (DRI) on Friday.
