Weekly Market Wrap: August 29, 2014 Friday, August 29, 3:00 PM ET The thirty fifth trading week of 2014 comes to a close with the S&P 500 and NASDAQ higher and the Dow Jones flat in late morning trading today.
Most actively traded stocks include RadioShack (RSH) up 13.29%, Apple (AAPL) up 0.31%, Bank of America (BAC) up 0.38% and Twitter (TWTR) about flat.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite are all higher for the week.
Crude oil futures are higher this week, trading at $95.15 per barrel on Friday morning.
And Gold futures are also up this week, trading at $1287.90 an ounce this morning.
In economic news, sales of new single-family houses in July 2014 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 412,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 2.4 percent below the revised June rate of 422,000, but is 12.3 percent above the July 2013 estimate of 367,000.
The median sales price of new houses sold in July 2014 was $269,800; the average sales price was $339,100. The seasonally adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of July was 205,000. This represents a supply of 6.0 months at the current sales rate.
In the week ending August 23, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 298,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 298,000 to 299,000. The 4-week moving average was 299,750, a decrease of 1,250 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 300,750 to 301,000.
Real gross domestic product -- the output of goods and services produced by labor and property located in the United States -- increased at an annual rate of 4.2 percent in the second quarter of 2014, according to the "second" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP decreased 2.1 percent.
Personal income increased $28.6 billion, or 0.2 percent, and disposable personal income increased $17.7 billion, or 0.1 percent, in July, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal consumption expenditures decreased $13.6 billion, or 0.1 percent. In June, personal income increased $67.1 billion, or 0.5 percent, DPI increased $62.9 billion, or 0.5 percent, and PCE increased $50.5 billion, or 0.4 percent, based on revised estimates.
Humana (NYSE:HUM) has declared a cash dividend to stockholders of $0.28 per share payable on October 31, 2014 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on September 30, 2014.
Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) has authorized the payment of a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.19 per common share. The quarterly dividend is payable on October 2, 2014, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on September 11, 2014.
Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.19 per common share to be paid on October 22, 2014 to all shareholders of record as of the close of business on October 2, 2014.
DSW approved a quarterly cash dividend payment of $0.1875 per share. The dividend will be paid on September 30, 2014 to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 19, 2014.
Lowe's Companies (NYSE:LOW) has declared a quarterly cash dividend of twenty three cents per share, payable November 5, 2014, to shareholders of record as of October 22, 2014.
PPL Corporation (NYSE:PPL) declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.3725 per share, payable Oct. 1, 2014, to shareowners of record as of Sept. 10, 2014.
And, Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY) declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.29 per share, payable on October 24, 2014, to common shareholders of record at the close of business on October 3, 2014.
