XLF, QCLN: Big ETF Outflows Tuesday, May 27, 12:23 PM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF), where 11,350,000 units were destroyed, or a 1.4% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLF, in morning trading today Wells Fargo & Company (WFC) is up about 0.7%, and Berkshire Hathaway Class B (BRK.B) is higher by about 0.6%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the First Trust NASDAQ Clean Edge Green Energy Index Fund (QCLN), which lost 950,000 of its units, representing a 11.2% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of QCLN, in morning trading today Linear Technology (LLTC) is up about 0.4%, and First Solar (FSLR) is up by about 2.2%.
