QQQ, FXU: Big ETF Outflows Friday, April 11, 12:37 PM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the PowerShares QQQ (QQQ), where 12,800,000 units were destroyed, or a 2.6% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of QQQ, in morning trading today Apple (AAPL) is down about 0.9%, and Microsoft (MSFT) is higher by about 0.5%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the First Trust Utilities AlphaDEX Fund (FXU), which lost 1,500,000 of its units, representing a 16.9% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of FXU, in morning trading today Entergy Corporation (ETR) is up about 1%, and United States Cellular (USM) is lower by about 0.3%.
