Valmont Industries (VMI) has acquired privately-held DS SM A/S, a market leader in Northern Europe for the manufacture of heavy complex steel structures for a diverse range of industries including wind energy, offshore oil and gas, and electricity transmission. The company, which will be renamed Valmont SM A/S, and will be reported in Valmont's Engineered Infrastructures Products Segment, has annual sales of approximately $190 million and operates two manufacturing locations in Denmark.
Lifetime Brands (LCUT), a leading global provider of kitchenware, tableware and other products used in the home, today announced that it has acquired the business and certain assets of Built NY. BUILT is a designer and distributor of brightly colored, uniquely patterned Neoprene products, including bags, totes, cases and sleeves.
IBM (IBM) has completed the acquisition of Cloudant, a privately held database-as-a-service provider that enables developers to easily and quickly create next generation mobile and web apps. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Mitel (MITL) announced the acquisition of contact center supplier OAISYS, a leading developer of integrated call recording and quality management solutions. Consistent with Mitel's strategy to rapidly expand the company's presence in the contact center space, the acquisition of OAISYS further strengthens Mitel's position in this growing market. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
