XLP, RALS: Big ETF Outflows Friday, January 3, 12:59 PM ET
Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP), where 10.5 million units were destroyed, or a 6.3% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLP, in morning trading today Procter & Gamble (PG) is up about 0.2%, and Coca Cola (KO) is lower by about 0.1%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Proshares RAFI Long/Short (RALS), which lost 400,000 of its units, representing a 23.5% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of RALS, in morning trading today Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is down about 1%, and AECOM Tech (ACM) is up by about 1.9%.
